We are converting this 1300 square foot, 3 bed, 2 bath beach house to an 1800 square foot, 3.5 bed, 2 bath, and adding nearly 500 square feet of porches, which overlook Cotton Bayou in Orange Beach, AL.

This is a family beach home, shared by three generations. The clients’ priority was to add communal space and squeeze in some more sleeping capacity. The additional living space and custom bunk beds satisfied both of these needs, and the expansive, ocean-facing porch provides bonus space when the weather is nice. To modernize this 1970’s home, we insulated the attic with spray-foam insulation, added a ducted-mini-split HVAC unit, and upgraded to modern windows, doors, and siding. As expected, flood regulations and spatial constraints of the lot had a big affect on this project, but it has progressed smoothly.
